For this project, the client wanted to refresh the entryway of her beautiful mid-century home in the Boise Foothills. The existing pathway to the front door felt dated and disconnected from the clean, modern architecture of the house. I proposed a new pathway design with a modern, mid-century aesthetic that creates a more welcoming approach and enhances the home’s curb appeal.
To open up the entry area, we removed a large spruce tree that was crowding the space and blocking light. In its place, I designed a planting plan featuring low-water, foothill-appropriate plants that complement the home’s architecture and thrive in the local climate. The result is a fresh, inviting entryway that feels true to the home’s mid-century style while being functional and sustainable.
